You can get a 3 year Pentax warranty for 20 bucks. That's peace of mind for less than 7 bucks a year. No-brainer IMHO.
How do you get 3 yr warranty from Pentax? I cannot find anything on their website ..

Thanks, ordered from adorama. Kind of ridiculous price comparing to the ~$100 for the same from Square trade.

Why would the next camera be more reliable than the K-5? especially as they've had a year to iron out the K-5 kinks.
Well probably some hardware issues can't be addressed without making a new camera. There is improvement with AF, but a new AF-module may be the answer to all our prayers. And we always have the feeling that the next thing is always the best thing.

My K5 is wonderful! It is the finest camera I have owned, and to date I have had no problems. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone that wanted one of the best performing cameras made. The joy it can bring outweigh any risks....risks that can be found in almost any product made by man, as well a s a ton of products made by God.
Regards!

I prefer the opposite approach "The thing I have now (K5) is THE BEST out of all I have had before"
Makes you feel SO MUCH better
