I agree, don't risk it for the $100 difference. Especially if you want hassle free returns, which you may need with the K-5. I purchased mine from Amazon, found an issue, and now need return it. I notified Amazon, they processed the return (UPS pickup), and in the meantime have already shipped out a replacement. All this while I still have the faulty K-5 in my possession. Now that's customer service.

Low Initial Price ...but wait!

They will find another way to get your money, including one or more of the following:

High shipping or packing charges.

Free shipping! (but an undisclosed 5% to 10% insurance charge)

Up-selling on accessories (including "long-life" batteries - a favorite)

Selling gray market products.

Breaking up kits and selling you the components separately (honest!)

...and probably some others I haven't mentioned.

My vendors of choice are B&H, Adorama and J&R. I've never had a problem with any of them.

With the number of potential problems that the K5 has given us, Buying from any dealer that isn't 100% reliable, has a good return policy and offers a local warranty is a very unwise move.
With no warranty, how much is it worth to have to pay to replace the lens release, fix the mirror over run problem, etc, etc, etc.....?
