For me, having fairly good size hands, the grip improves handling. I hear you about the cash.

Ah... I see, if you use multi-segment metering, I would suggest that you set the AE link to AF point to "off" in the custom manual; that way, your exposure is pretty even, not subject to over/under exposure if your AF point is dark or bright.

You will love the aftermarket grip. Is the original better? Sure it is.
It also costs about 4 times as much. For the money though, the aftermaket grip is nice.
I like mine a lot. It was given to me as a gift. I'll use it until it wears out.....if it wears out.

Not wanting to hijack OP`s thread, AE link to AF is off. There has been threads about the matter.

Cool... although my k-5 is still quite fresh yet... not knowing if it has the tendency to overexpose and blowing highlights as most people find. OTOH, my k-7 almost seldom overexpose in multi-segment metering mode.
