New guy, with images. Just upgraded from the K7.........Hello K5

Anyway, I'm new here. Second post actually.
I'm in Louisiana, which is a wonderful place to live if you like wildlife or nature in general.
I was referred here by my friend Gary H, who is a really good dude who I hope to see a lot of here.
Don't know what handle he uses.

Anyway, when Pentax came out with the K7, I transferred over from film to digital.
I had the K7 for 1 year last month. Bought it local with a 3 year warranty.
I went with Pentax rather than Canon or Nikon based on build quality. It just felt better and the weather sealing and the whisper quiet shutter was a big sell for me.

I like the K7 so much that I recently upgraded to the K5 - need for speed at better high ISO capabilities.
I'll probably sell my K7 which has been a very very capable camera. Captured some fantastic images with it.

Anyway, here are a few images captured with the K5.
I bought it about 2 weeks ago, and these are a few of the shots I've gotten so far.

I hope to get to know some of you, and maybe make a buddy or two here.
Be well.

Great shots and a warm welcome from the Netherlands! As you are coming from the K-7 you'll feel right at home with the K-5, I'm still mid-conversion from the K20D and that takes some unlearning and re-learning, I can tell you!

Awesome camera and awesome photographer behind the viewfinder, what more could a forum like this wish for?

Thanks folks.
The lens is a Pentax 100mm Smc d-fa WR.

I do quite a bit of macro, but I do other stuff too. Glad to be here and thanks for the welcome.
Hope to learn many new tricks here.

Very nice macro shots. Enjoy your K-5, I just pulled the trigger on one about 2 weeks ago and love it so far. I need to try out my smc Pentax-F 50mm macro on the K-5...

What an entrance!

Just love your macro shots - you've made quite an entrance and introduction with them!

Funny thing - GaryH is who helped me along with my decision to upgrade to the K-5 - Even though I am far from Louisiana, he's been a big help to me also.

Looking forward to seeing more of your photos - unfortunately any macro work I do now will have an ice cold winter theme.......
