Surprise package (1 picture)

Took this for the family Christmas card. Put a flash in the box with some cheap radio triggers. Taken with the K5 and the DA21 Ltd.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Festivus, Winter solstice, or whatever floats your boat!

Great shot and apologies for hijacking your post a little but It's brought to mind a technique question. You placed a flash in the box to get the effect. What would the effect have been had you just placed some type of light in there that was just 'on' as opposed to a flash.

It would work, but it might be hard to get as much light as the flash. Plus, the flash will freeze people/movement. I've done what you suggested for still lifes and it works well since I can keep the ISO low and have a long shutter speed.
