Looking to move up to A K 5

Hello, I am looking to move up to a K 5 from my 10KD I have been shooting with for ever. Is there anything I should know or be on the look out for?
I have heard of the sensor stain issues but don,t know that much about it? Thanks Denis

Sensor stains should not be a problem if you are buying new. If you are in the used market then you should make sure.

My first K-5 had an electronic level that was not calibrated correctly, I sent it back for exchange. So test that when it arrives.

You have the ability to fine focus adjust your lenses with the k-5 not sure if you did with the K10D but you should test your lenses and see if they need tuning. I have checked 4 of mine, 3 were very close to spot on, my F 50 f/1.7 needed a +3 adjustment. None of the other three were as fast as the 50mm so maybe they are not quite on but close enough at their maximum aperture opening.

There are various other ailments reported but nothing else that you can check for out of the box comes to mind.

It is an awesome camera hope you enjoy it.

If you have the $, then it would be the best decision you could make at this point. The price has come down and the camera is absolutely fantastic, plus you could still get some money for your K10 if you decide to sell it.

I made that jump when it was a bit more expensive. I haven't regretted it. The K10 is still good - with plenty of light it's great. The K-5 does focus more quickly and has so much more sensitivity. You'll enjoy it.
