Noob question here. If I update my firmware to 1.11, does it include all the prior improvements as well from prior firmwares (i.e. 1.03)? I believe my K5 is still on 1.02.

Thanks for the help!
Yes..

Cameras are designed to be used by right eye viewers. Either train yourself to use the camera that way or learn to live with bumping things.
Some people have physical impairments forcing them to shoot left-eye. I have glaucoma and resulting cataracts in my right eye. I had to convert to left or wuit altogether. It IS awkward at times, but one can learn to shoot both-eyes-open, with the left eye removed from the VF (looking through but not contacting the camera) using a Correction Lens Adapter or an eye cup.

Thankfully I have cataract surgery (a CLA for my eye) sccheduled.

I had thought of this after I posted, but I suspect there are more people who shoot "left eyed" because that is their dominant, not because the right eye is impaired in some way.

This feels a bit like you're apologizing, but for the wrong thing. If I want to shoot with my left eye for some other reason than physical disability, you think I have somehow forfeited all right to ask manufacturers to make this easier for me? Why?

The new V1.12 firmware is available now.

Just a boring O-GPS1 fix (nice if it helps someone) but there may be hidden fixes as well.

I know why Adobe does hidden fixes -- if they listed everything they (attempt to) fix, everyone would know that their quality control is virtually absent -- but am not sure why Pentax does not list every improvement a new firmware brings.
