Front/Back Focusing

While on my trip down to Arizona over the Xmas season, I had a chance to try out my two new lenses. The Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 and the Pentax 12-24mm 2.8 lens. The pictures produced do not seem to be "snappy". They don't appear to me to be as clear as I thought they would be. I know and have read discussions on back and front focusing problems with specific lenses on the K5 but I am wondering if my K5 could be improperly focusing with all lenses. Is there a quick way to tell? I have had my K5 for almost a year now but to be honest, have not used it that much. I would like to know how to find out if there is a problem and what I should do about it? Thanks for reading my post and thanks for your advice/suggestions.

With the 12-24mm's huge DOF it's surprising that your shots seemed soft. In any case, here's an article that tells you how to test your lenses:

If possible, I'd also suggest you post some pics here on the site so we can try to discern the problem.
