I see several brands on Amazon - Sigma, Pro-Optic, Bower, Vivitar - so Samyang is making some and Sigma appears to be as well. There are reviews here in the Lenses Section for many of the TCs out there for Pentax too.

Only the Tamron 1.4x PZ (not being made anymore) and the Kenko 1.5x will AF with SDM. Of course, the Pentax 1.7x AF will always AF as well.

there seem to be alot of money to make in this teleconverter product, i wonder why pentax not start producing Pentax 1.7x AF again ?

maybe they hope to sell more lenses instead?

Design of Pentax 1.7 is dependant on using leaded glass, something that can no longer legally be sold new in most countries now. That's my understanding anyway.

if your sigma is a screw drive AF lens, and not an HSM lens then the sigma TC should work. To check is easy, just ,make sure the lens has a 35mm diameter opening at the rear element, and 12mm recessed (minimum) rear element, If the lens meets these two conditions, and the lens is screw dreive the sigma TC should work

Note however, that due to the maximum aperture of F6.3 at 500mm, NO TC will permit the AF to function correctly as this really needs to have a total maximum aperture in the range of 6.7-7 for AF to work reliably.

As a result, you will be relegated to MF.
