In the CHEAP MACRO article I tell how to put together a good macro setup for almost nothing. Wide-angle or UWA (ultra-wide) are dicier. Going wider than the DA18-55 will cost money and there is no way around that.
The cheapest UWA is the fishy Zenitar-K2 16/2.8 for around US$200. Defished, its FOV is like a 12mm lens; and until I got a Tamron 10-24, the Zen was my favorite widest lens. There's a Sigma 15/3.5 that you might find used for under US$200 but I haven't tried it -- see the review in the lens database. The Samyang 14/2.8 gets great reviews but it probably costs over US$300 -- it's sold under various names for various prices, but if it's 14mm and not labeled Pentax or Sigma, it's probably the Samyang.
Hay, the screw-in adapter is funky, but it's cheap and can be fun to play with. Just don't expect anything like Image Quality from it, and you'll be fine. Oh yeah, the UV filter is a waste unless you're shooting amidst blowing sand and salt spray, spurting mud & blood & beer, that sort of stuff. Otherwise it's a beercan coaster or cat toy.
