i got this for my k-5:
52mm 0.45X HD wide angle + macro lens + UV filter (said for Pentax K-X K-M K-R)(but i had thought they were all compatible dslr lenses of pentax)

i am waiting on this lens to come in the mail:
Pentax SMCP-DA 18-55 mm f/ 3.5-5.6

i already have the 50-200mm lens and i can't get the wide angle + macro lens to fit on it...

so what i'm asking i suppose is what do i need to get it to fit? or am i screwed? or will it fit on the lens that's in the mail maybe.... THANKS

0.45X - that supposed to be fitted on filter ring of your k-mount lens.

Would help if you could give an internet link to the '52mm 0.45x...' please, so we can see what you are referring to.

No reason that I can see why this doesn't fit, provided it is a 52mm thread on the end of your lens and it isn't damaged.

50-200 is 52mm, so should fit ok.

Not recommended with zoom lenses. Ideally you'll need something like a 50mm prime lens , i.e. not a zoom. Plenty of older ones available on ebay; it'll be manual everything reversed, i.e. focus and exposure!

Alternative to the reversing ring. Again use it with a prime lens for best results.

You need to find out what the diameter threads are on the front of your lenses. They could be dia52mm or dia49mm. If different to the 52mm you purchased, it will not fit.

Note: per the lens database, the DA50-200 front thread is dia52mm while the DA50-200 WR is dia49mm. Do you have the WR version of the DA50-200..??

I believe this is what you bought:

This will fit on the front of your lens. You need to screw it in. But your image quality and IQ will degrade like mad . . . If you want a wide angle lens you might as well get the Sigma 10-20 or the Pentax 12-24.

If you want macro, there is the DA35/2.8, DA50/2.8 aaand the DFA 100/2.8 macro. There are other 3rd party brands of macro lenses too like the Vivitar 90mm F2.5

First, the good news: The 0.45x strap-on screw-in with a 52mm thread will fit the DA18-55 as-is, no problem. It *should* fit the DA50-200 -- both the DA18-55 and DA50-200 have 52mm front thread. Now the bad news: You will probably be disappointed with the 0.45x optics. Such strap-on screw-in glass usually add distortion and aberrations.

Ah, the Fotodiox 49mm thread-reversal ring -- it won't fit your lenses. It is used to reverse-stack a shorter lens (the secondary) upon a camera-mounted longer lens (the primary) for close macro shooting. You would need a 52mm ring with your lenses. But more bad news: STACKING YOUR 18-55 AND 50-200 LENSES WILL SUCK! Using the Fotodiox macro tube set with your lenses will also disappoint you.

I hope this isn't too much information: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-lens-articles/152336-cheap-macro-b...lose-work.html. Good luck!

damn well it seems the way to go is to get an actual wide angel lens and a macro lens...

i just don't have the money to spend 600-800 dollars and thought i found an easy fix...
(i am open for links to ones that would fit a k-5 and have good quality at a cheaper price)

KevinR: yeah the 50-200 one is WR, but the 18-55 one i'm waiting on isn't

i guess i just don't see what makes fixed lenses better or different compared to zoom lenses...

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR RESPONSES

In the CHEAP MACRO article I tell how to put together a good macro setup for almost nothing. Wide-angle or UWA (ultra-wide) are dicier. Going wider than the DA18-55 will cost money and there is no way around that.

The cheapest UWA is the fishy Zenitar-K2 16/2.8 for around US$200. Defished, its FOV is like a 12mm lens; and until I got a Tamron 10-24, the Zen was my favorite widest lens. There's a Sigma 15/3.5 that you might find used for under US$200 but I haven't tried it -- see the review in the lens database. The Samyang 14/2.8 gets great reviews but it probably costs over US$300 -- it's sold under various names for various prices, but if it's 14mm and not labeled Pentax or Sigma, it's probably the Samyang.

Hay, the screw-in adapter is funky, but it's cheap and can be fun to play with. Just don't expect anything like Image Quality from it, and you'll be fine. Oh yeah, the UV filter is a waste unless you're shooting amidst blowing sand and salt spray, spurting mud & blood & beer, that sort of stuff. Otherwise it's a beercan coaster or cat toy.

That one is actually 49mm. The kit lens is 52mm, though.
