NEW ! 1.12 update for K5

Does anyone know what new updates
there are in this new version ?
Ive just googled it... it bought me back to this site lol.
It seems very little indeed has been confirmed !
I did read that the freezing problem had been fixed, but It has not been confirmed by pentax that this is so.
Ive decided to download it anyway. Its poss that Pentax have addressed certain issues without aclaiming it, since that
would be like admitting there was a problem in the first place lol.
Anyway, I beleive downloading the new firmware can only be benaficial so here goes !!!!!

What are people so afraid of about updating the firmware? If there isn't some particular fix they've been waiting for, there seems to be great angst and reluctance. Just upgrade -- takes 30 seconds.

I think a lot of us developed a healthy fear of the word "firmware" when dealing with old routers and such, that were quite easy to brick. Some older cell phones were also quite prone to being unintentionally transformed into a paperweight when attempting this, too.

That said, it's much safer than it used to be, for any kind of device, and I've never heard of anyone bricking a camera without doing something stupid like turning it off during the update, or attempting it on a weak battery.

Not tried turning it off but it checks the battery before update so not even that can be done wrong.

Watching mind do it's update, I felt moments of trepidation during the second phase when it seems to hesitate for seemingly a long time at one point. Went on to complete successfully of course. Just some primordial fear raising it's head from deep in my brain stem.

Make sure that the file is in the root of the sd card. Do an unmount, or safe remove or whatever your os calls it.

Now that brings back some memories that I'd rather forget....
