A lot of Nikon shooters were having trouble with their cameras quitting in the cold at the Dew Tour, my daughter being one of them. Several were pressing those chemical hand warmers against their cameras or keeping them inside their parkas. The D300's were ok but the lower priced models werenj't. My K5 and K10D put in 2 full days of shooting in the cold on one battery charge.
