I'd like to see a rangefinder for prime lenses, on the model of the Leica M digitals. Down side would be that to see around the larger lenses ( like the fast Sigma wides) it would have to be the size of a Mamiya 7.

I think the question should be what do you want in a camera? If you just wait for the sake of waiting, I think one can always wait... something better is always going to happen; prices are always going to drop.

I was guilty of waiting for quite a while before I bought my K10d. By time I bought the K10d, I realized that all the features I wanted were there for a reasonable price. When I bought my K5, I decided that I was looking for certain features in my next dSLR, and the K5 was the first to meet those needs.

The suggestion, make a list of what you want in a camera. Don't keep your search specific to Pentax. Look at the mirrorless cameras that are already out there, the dSLR's and determine what it is that is most important to you.

Well considering there is no rumor of the d7000 replacement from Nikon anytime soon, and they are both sourcing the same sensor, it might be far to say that the k-5 won't be replaced anytime soon. I'm going to go ahead and wait a few days to see if the k-mirror less causes any price drops for the k-5

its just 8 hours away may as well just wait! The pricing situation can be determined by the price of the k01 if the k01 is 1100 then the k5 is likely to go down in price to avoid competition, similarly if the k01 is $700ish then the k5 is likely to move increase in price (again to avoid competition).

K-01 will be under $800. Not the same as a K 5

Now that the K-01 info is out, I'd say get the K-5 if your primary use is photo, K-01 if your primary use is video.

with k-01 priced at $750 I doubt pentax would let the k-5 go down in price anywhere near that, so if you want a k-5 you should get one now since its likely to only stay in the same price or increase.

Good-bye RICHO, Good-bye the Pentax K-01.
Pentax mirror back, or make manufacturing in safe hands.

As looking at K-01, get the K5 when it is still on rebate.

Forget K-01, I just can't see how I can use my manual focus lenses.

Doesn't focus peaking 'pique' your interest for manual focusing? Sorry for the pun.. but this feature makes m-focus lenses more workable. A flip screen or alternate view would be nice, certainly.. but the K-01 takes manual focus to a new level (all assuming it does what it's supposed to, we're still taking about a camera that isn't quite finalized).

My order order is from Amazon but not amazon directly. Its "fulfilled by amazon" and is eligible for prime shipping. I am assuming this is not going to cause any warranty issues?
