Sigma lens

I would like to get Sigma Lens 18-200 mm . Do you think it would be a good lens to get?
I have Pentaxx 25-80 mm and Simma 18-50 mm
and a Pentax 1st Digital and now a Pentax K5

regards

Hi and welcome, I would highly recommend the Pentax 18-135. This lens rarely comes of my K-5 even though I have several other zoom lens's. Its also weather sealed and has very fast focus.

Bonjour et soyez bienvenu,

Welcome and hope that you're going to enjoy PF.

As per the lens, I have a DC 18-200mm that I bought a while back and it's only "OK" IMHO ... see reviews at : Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Lens Reviews - Sigma Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

Mine is a good "happy snap/walk-around" lens, but that's about it. It's on my list to sell and/or swap for something different, because I do not use it very often now ... do not know if I could recommend it for a K-5 ... depends upon your needs and price point tolerances.

Allez, bien à vous ... Salut, J Frog

I agree on the 18-135. I just got mine this week and I am pretty impressed so far. Mine has quick AF, decent image quality, very nice Bokeh and it is small and light - it seems ideal for my main walk around lens. The IQ can't compare with my DA* 16-50 and my next lens will most likely be a DA* 50-135 which gets killer reviews. But I wanted one WR do it all zoom for hiking and such, and the 18-135 seems like it will nicely fill that slot for me.

Same here. Go with the DA18-135WR. Its a great lens for an all rounder.
