The day Pentax decides on WR screw drive primes the canikon will have to work harder to keep their customers. K5 has grown many pentaxians, the next lap would be WR primes. It makes sense. And WR is not a hype. I wash my K5 and 18-135 under the tap after a saltwater trip.
I'd love to see some WR primes. While I don't put it under the tap, when I got back from the beach I'd wipe the exterior down with a damp cloth after brushing it to remove sand and any dried salt.

Salt is evil. It tries to ruin my car every winter. It ruined one of my cameras once. It ruined a dive watch.
Whenever possible and with WR it is, I should put it under a slowly running tap (so no force is applied to seals). Give (hidden/invisible) salt any chance and suddenly things break down.

Chocolate-milk is evil, if not washed off right away it turns into sticky mess.

Pentax is BR as well BTW - my k10 and K7 have both had numerous beer baths at shows i've been shooting (half of them courtesy of the bloody band ) If it's a show i think this will happen at i just have a bottle of water handy and rinse it off before it get's sticky
I've also shot shows in the pouring rain at Dundas square where the only people shooting were FF guys and me and they are always impressed lower price gear can survive

Dude, you seem to have some low self-esteem issues if the only thing that you're getting out of my messages is Pentax-bashing. You should really go out of the Pentax-bubble every once in a while and expand your "horizons" beyond what's written by DXO and other measurbators. Really loved that D700-bashing post from you where K5's sensor is so much better, especially considering the fact you never owned either of these cameras.
Well, what were you trying to say? You know very well that anything from CaNikon you can clean in the shower or the kitchen sink is going to cost twice as much as the K5 - not to mention it's going to weigh twice as much as well as being bigger and bulkier. Price, WR, size, weight and ergonomics matter to a lot of people, and some of us buy the K5 and enjoy it a lot because of these things. So, your point is that we who like what the K5 has to offer are pathetic because CaNikon offer the same WR at twice the price and twice the weight? Is that it?

I've added another ignore to my list. This was supposed to be a thread about the JOY of WR and implicitly about Pentax. I just don't care that Nikon Professional Grade cameras selling for 2-3-4x what my K-5 sells for are also WR and somehow better. I'm still enjoying my K-5 and looking forward to the first Soccer games of my son's season so that this year I won't have to run for cover again when it rains!

This thread was doing good.
Is there a way to block non Pentax users replies so they can`t kill the JOY.

Yes - WR is good and No - we poor feeble Pentax users do not think that WR means that we can take them diving.

But we do think that we can use them in situations that would give us pause with other equipment, and at a very reasonable price.
