How to Reset the File Name to 100-0001

I've changing the SD card and by accident I installed a card that was used with another camera and did not format it first before using it within the K-5, and now my file name is 100-0873 instead of being 100-0009, how can I reset the File Name to 100-0001, thanks a lot

You just take your SD card out from the camera and put it in your computer. Then you go to the folder name (under DCIM main folder) corresponding the 100_0306 (note: 0306 corresponding to today's date) to move all the JPG or RAW image files except one (have to leave one there). Next, change the last image file to correspond with the last count. In your case, change the file name from IMGP0873 to IMGP0008.

Put the SD card back to the camera, and start shooting, the new image file will start at IMGP0009, IMGP0010 and so on.

I'm Still not able to change the file number

One note to add to Aleonx3's solution. It will only work if you go to menu page 5 > Memory then uncheck the "File No" item (the last one in the list on the 2nd screen). If it is checkmarked then the camera will still retain the last file no. even if you renamed ithe one remaining file on the SD card.

I had followed Aleonx3's steps perfectly but still couldn't reset the flie name. I finally figured out that I had to uncheck that one memory item.

I can verify that the above steps do work as I've done it before myself.
