Good Tele Converter for K-5 + DA* 60-250mm F4 Lens

Currently I am using the K-5 with the DA 18-135mm lens, I might add in the near future the DA* 16-50mm and 60-250mm, I would like to get a good Tele Converter for the DA* 60-250mm F4 lens, any suggestion ?, thanks

Maybe wait to see if they release the SDM 1.4 thats on the Lens Road map, if you are not chasing one right now, for use right now.

I just bought this one Kenko Pz-AF 1.5x Teleplus SHQ Teleconverter Lens Reviews - Miscellaneous Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
from a forum member.
Works very well with the DA 4/60-250 and seems by far the best TC I have ever used!

Interesting! I have that TC too. It works well with my screw drive and MF primes and also my 18-135mm. I don't have any SDM lenses currently but I tried the Kenko with a DA*50-135mm and it was very poor. Focus stutter (zzzzzt zzzzt zzt zt) was obvious, and it misfocussed slightly on every shot. I've heard other people complain about poor AF using the Kenko PZ and DA*300mm. Brandrx advises that pre-focussing is a useable workaround. From the reviews you linked, it appears that AF performance may be lens specific.

You are probably right, Dan. The DA 4/60-250 is my only lens with SDM. This combo works well with the K5, but that is for sure no guarantee that the TC will work with all SDM lenses. I think there is allways a certain risk of compatibility issues when you mix components of different brands.
