Indeed, that's exactly what it was. In the K-z thread on this board there was a rumor that a K-5n would be announced soon, followed by a K-3 in the summer, and a K-1 non-APSC in the fall. The K-5n supposedly will have a swivel lcd. If the rumor was true I'd expect focus peeking and the K01's video modes as well.

If such a camera comes out, I may sell this K-5 for it, but given that it's just a rumor now I'm not hedging my bets, and at $899 it's hard to go wrong.

I sure hope you're right! Aside from the swivel LCD (which is a great bonus), the focus peaking and K-01 video modes are everything I've been asking for here on PF for the past few weeks -- in broken-record fashion.

Now the question is, will it be a replacement for the K-r, with a K-r-like starting price, or a replacement for the K-5, with the K-5's outrageously high starting price?

Since this thread was started this seller went from [3] sold to [21] sold...please don't tell me you're all falling for it - it's almost too good to be true from Pentax's point of view

I guess that wasn't worded well. All I'm saying is that it's great to see that the K-5 continues to be a hit Pentax should be much more thankful for the sales we give them through this site. But I just checked the ebay listing and it looks like it has ended- so that's a bummer!

+1, thanks Adam!

Yeah this site is far more important to Pentax than they realize (and probably just slightly less important than I'd like to I think it is).

Well, I dithered...put it in my shopping cart...but given that I have a Nikon D7000 I just found it too hard to justify.....thought I'd have a bit of time to think about it since it said that it was a price that would be available over the weekend....but I believe it would have been such a nice upgrade to my K20D...which I still like quite a bit....and then it was no longer available.....there's probably a few lessons here....

tbh I do not see why a D7000 owner should buy a K-5 (or visa versa); specially if you already have a Pentax body for your possible lenses.

p.s. let me add, I'm not talking about switching systems, I meant having both at the same time.

@farhagh - I agree...that's why I just didn't complete the purchase.....in a world of limited resources you have to make sensible choices. In all honesty, I would not have even given it any thought if Nikon had in-camera image stabilization. And, let's face it, the K20D is still a very nice camera.

I couldn't imagine they'd sell for either of those price points honestly. I wouldn't expect a K-5n starting for anything less than 1200 nor anything more than 1400. Perhaps they will go for a Canon style approach and have a K-r replacement as well (rebel = K-z, 60D = K-5n, 7D = K-3, 5DMk3 = K-1, 1D = 645D).
