The (second) replacement K-5 showed no SR issues after testing using the composition adjustment feature. No other problems have been found so far.

I have also just discovered this problem. It is apparent in Live View, but you can also see and hear the sensor moving in longer exposures. Turning the camera on and off does not seem to stop it. My K-5 is just over a year old and this is the first problem that I have had with it. Of course it is just out of Warranty.

This problem happens to SR lovers and people shooting bricks under room light without turning the SR OFF. This time we don't have a Samsung sensor to blame, right? I heard this type of issues from my friend who shoot focus chart with both his tamron and L grade lens. He first blame the tamron as it is a 3rd party lens and then found out the IS needs to be off. He never blame his $2000 USD L lens though he did the same test with that lens as well. Haha!

Should we raise this to Pentax to disable it or enable it automatically? This is an area nobody does it for customers. It doesn't seem like a big deal for engineers but a big text in the ad.

My 2 cents

I get this problem in video mode on my K-5. It just happened recently, so definitely some circuitry that has failed. Good thing Canadian K-5s come with 2 years warranty. I'll be sending it in once I return from Hawaii in May.

I have a similar issue with my K5, the SR goes crazy in long exposure ( 0.8 sec) no matter I turn it off or let it on. The picture are all blurry. I've try everything
I could think of ( fully charged battery, turning to live view then back to normal, firmware upgrade, handheld, tripod, telephoto, wide angle...) nothing fix it. It will have to go to Pentax service , fortunately still under warranty ! (the shutter count is less than 1200)

This is happening to my k30, but I use the rechargeables that came with the package. Doesn't matter if its half charged or full charged, still happening.

Those cramped quarters can drive a squirrel crazy.

Prozac...it works miracles! Once the squirrel has ingested it, normalcy returns within a few minutes.

Regards!

Whatever passes for normal as far as squirrels are concerned.
