Yes, I don't care about the root cause, I'm a user and when compare to other cameras, it really disappoints me. My previous Nikon D5000 looks like working better.

The cause is simple. Nikon includes prom chips for quick image processing and thus instant previou. The K5 is not slow, but slower than some cameras

The K-5 does seem a bit slow to display a shot after exposure - but then I find this to be a rather useless feature because when I'm shooting I'm shooting, and I don't look at each shot as I take it, so I turn this function off anyway. Without it, and when shooting only RAW, the K-5 is plenty fast.

After taking a shot the image is shown almost instantly on the LCD of my K-5. You must have some auto-correction feature turned on or have a crappy SD card if you get an hourglass and have to wait several seconds.
