We're reviewing the X-pro right now, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the findings will be compared to the K-5. Given that the sensor is a year and a half newer, the two should definitely be comparable.

I hope that the K-5's successor sets a new industry-best for IQ as the K-5 did when it came out, but I guess that only time will tell. If Pentax is going to take more than a year to get their full-frame out, then pushing out another high-quality APS-C DSLR will be of crucial importance.

You are comparing two completely different camera concepts.
The K5 is based around an SLR range of lenses and represents a complete system. The Fuji is a very innovative camera with an electronic viewfinder and some really nice lenses.

I look forward to this review, it will be interesting, however beyond sensor comparisons and IQ results, I see little to compare between the X-Pro and K5....except that they are both cameras. From what I have read so far, the X-Pro is much more comparable to the X100 than to a DSLR.
It might be hard to find where the K5 has any weakness in such a comparison, if equipped with a comparable lens, but for some, as the very successful X100 has shown, it's not all about fast AF and pentaprisims. Just what it is about seems a little slippery to me, I can't quite grasp it. To some it appears to be the "look" of the body or the shape..or maybe the retro feel? Maybe having to work a little harder to get the result you want has a certain appeal too? Whatever it is, it seems to have caught on with others with the X100 and X10.....the X-Pro.........we can't say yet, but we can say it is certainly "different".
Regards!
