12 months

Had my K5 for just over 12 months and it has not given me any troubles! just thought that seeing all the troubles some of you have had that it would be good to post a good report.

99% of happy users are outshouted by 1% with problems. News is like that too.

Great to hear!
I've only had my K-5 for about 5 months (previous owner had it for about 6 months prior to me) and I'm very thankful that I haven't had any problems.

I'm at 5+ months and so far zero significant "issues". Firmware updates have continuously improved the performance (mine had 1.01 when new). I'm still blown away by the images I can get with this camera. The dynamics are superb and great detail can be pulled from RAW files in PP.

Note, my K-5's electronic level is off slightly, but to be honest I don't use it. I do wish Pentax would introduce a calibration feature in the firmware to allow end users to calibrate the level. It's certainly not something I consider a serious issue though. It is a fine camera.

Hi Guys,
just back from an easter trip to Paris with my 39...K-5 (production date 12/2010) and the DA 40 ltd plus DA 55-300 and I am still enjoying the wonderful pics as well the great workmanship of this body .......12004 shutter counts since purchase in May 2011.
My only problem: orange juice was poured over my K-5 in Paris during breakfast!!
I thought to go nuts, but cleaning with running water solved the problem of sticky buttons...so i can confirm: this body is really water resistant!

Greetings from Austria,
Sascha

My first K-5 had about 10000 clicks and 10 months on it when it was stolen, I never had any problems relating to QC. (I did take a lot of very bad pictures though.)

Haven't had any problems with my new one either, but I've only had it a few days. The new one says Ricoh on the bottom plate, but still came with firmware 1.01.

I have 2 K5's. One I have had just about 12 month now, and the other 4 months. Not one problem from either. ( god I hope I did not jinx myself!)
