The most disturbing part of the K-5 bracketing function is the need to hold the shutter release down for the entire series. This is just not conducive to high image quality.
Not disturbing at all.
Just go to Custom menu and enable "One push bracketing".

Well, thank you so very much. I missed it in the manual and misinterpreted its meaning in the menu. That will make HDR a more friendly process.

Anyway, I could add as a wish for an improvement to one push bracketing:
Instead of slapping mirror for every bracketed shot, why not keep the mirror up for all bracketed shots?

That's what happens in Live-View mode.

There are so many things that can be better.
Does Pentax/Ricoh research need our inputs as they don't know what to improve?

I would like to see the lock button on the mode dial disappear completely. It's impossible to change modes with gloves on. I know this probably won't happen because it was probably added after complaints that it was very easy to accidently change modes but the current setup just sucks and for long days outside in winter, I still use my K10D. I can do just about anything without taking my gloves off.

I do agree with the lock button and gloves. It seems to me a recessed dial would serve the same purpose of preventing accidental movement.

Not really a gripe but dual cardslot would be nice. Selectable for either backup, extended memory or one for images and the other for video.

- LiveView button is wrong place cos i too much push it even not want to use LiveView.

- Pop up flash would also nice to have manually adjustable power (like 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 etc power, same as Nikon)

Errr... you don't.

Custom Menu 2 Item 9 "One-push Bracketing" set to On.

I do miss this, since I use mostly manual lenses, but there's an easyish workaround: Keep some paper in your pocket. Hold it in front of the flash, and fold it to get power down further. As a bonus, also gives less harsh light.

Good tip, flash light is not so hard when using paper also.

- Option to use the 2 second timer with mirror lock up
Doesn't this happen automatically? Mine turns off IBIS and automatically flips the mirror up at the start of the timer.

It does. Kind of funny that some wished upon improvements are already there.
