I made over 7000 with my "stained" from november 2010 and since the exchange in march 2011, no problems and over 13000 shots until now.

I'm new in the forum and not sure if I am typing the post in the correct thread. Anyway, I am a K-5 owner and truly very satisfied with the camera. No problems so far.

I got my K-5 in October of 2011. I have not had a single issue and I love the design, control layout, feel and superb IQ.

I have raved on about my K5 in the past...no need to cover it again. It was my dream camera last year, and it still is. It has performed flawlessly and delivered far beyond my expectations.
Regards!

One of the nice things I have enjoyed on the K5 is the Memory menu. It allows you to select or deselect items that you want to have the camera remember after the camera is turned off. I make these same mistakes. Now I have turned the memory off for items such as ISO, Drive, and WB. No matter how I have these set, after the camera is turned off, it reverts to Auto ISO, single frame, and AWB. It just sucks when you are outside in the afternoon and capture your child doing something cute and you hit the shutter and get a blue cast from the Tungsten setting and then wonder why you are getting shutter speeds of 1/8000 only to find that you are shooting ISO 3200! But, my absolute worst is while trying to take a candid portrait of my kids or sneak up on someone and hit the shutter for a quick shot and hear the beeping of the 2 second timer!

Bought mine in Dec. 11. No issue whatsoever. Same for the K100D (still have) and K7 (sold).

I bought mine in May 2011 and immediately sold my K20D because I did not expect any issues. I never regretted it. This is the by far best camera I ever bought, far better than the person behind its viewfinder (and the reason is not that I am a particularly bad photographer, although this may very well be the case as well).

Well yes you do, that could indicate a dire failure rate and a stupendous collection of K mount glass

Got mine last week and shot a bunch at Citifield last night at the NY Met v. SF Giants game. Enjoying the 1600 ISO and didn't notice any noise. I pushed it to 3200 with just a bit of noise. I was shoot from the noise bleed section at 300mm. I kick it over to high speed rapid fire and it's performance was unbelievable. Can't say a bad word about the K5 so far {but neither can I say a negative word about my K7, K20d or Kx for that matter}. Never had a problem with any of those bodies but my K7 is the most used with 16,000 actuations so all are still kind of new. I guess I'm only at 300 actuations with the K5 so it's still a baby. So while I can't speak from time tested experience with the K5,I think I'm really going to like that low light capability & DR that the K5 offers me.

Initially I was sold a "pre-used" camera as-new, which had a shutter count of over 3,000 & which also locked up a couple of times. After taking back & exchanging for a brand new one, my new K-5 has worked perfectly & I'm very happy with it.
