Sigma 17-70 1:2.8-4 drains my battery ?

hi all,

on my K5 is now my Sigma 17-70 1:2.8-4, which I loved to use with my K20
It has an built in optical stabilizer, so one can either use the K5 or the one in the Sigma.
Had this on my K20 and the switch on the Sigma was at ON all the time.

My K5 is only a few days old. This morning my battery was completely empty,
even if the K5 power switch was OFF. The Sigma OS switch was ON (as i
had it on the K20 all the time)

Apparently the K5 has still power in OFF position on the lens contacts and therefore
the battery was sucked out by the Sigma during the night ? Having no other
explanation for any other reason.

Anyone had this problem seen before ?

regards

Did you recharge the K5 battery fully before concluding that the 17-70 is draining it. I mention this because you mention that the K5 is only a few days old - perhaps it was not fully charged?

Doesn't sound right. My Sigma (same lens as yours) does not do this with K5.

Yes, charged the original and the spare battery in the charger before use.
Maybe it needs another cycle. Nevertheles - very strange!

I will run a test: Sigma OS on/off for a night and will report again.
