Hi,

I am looking to buy cheap flash options for K5. I know nothing about flashes.

Can Pentax AF200S be used on k5? Also can I use the same with wireless triggers with K5? Please help.

This flash will work, but only in manual mode. No wireless magic with it

FYI - All Pentax flashes work on all Pentax cameras. It's kinda like the lenses. Some functions won't work, but the trigger voltages that are acceptable to Pentaxes have always been pretty robust. I have a TON of Pentax flashes and they all work - more or less.

I don't have the AF200S but I have three of the AF200T model. Great for manual use because it has a switch on the back that allows 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 power. No menus or anything just slide the switch. One of the few Pentax models that have that feature. Works great on the k-5 both on the hot shoe and wireless with Cactus triggers.

Thanks for the valuable input guys. I think I will try with af200s to start with as off camera flash with Cactus Triggers.
