Hoya HMC Skylight(1B) on K5

I have two 49mm HOYA HMC Skylight(1B) filters that will fit my SMC PENTAX DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR and my SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited lenses.
I know they will work for film but will they help or hurt the results if used with a K5. I would at least like to use them as lens protectors if there are no adverse affects.

Only thing I can think of is that it will slightly degrade your IQ, but that's a non-issue as you'd need to go to 100% crop and pay verrrry close attention to even notice the difference.

Edit - On manually set WB - You may notice a slightly warmer hue on your pictures(As Aparrently, 1B=Slight pink hue to add warmth)
