Firmware question

Dear All,

I currently have the lowest firmware version and wanted to update to the latest version (V1.13)

Do i need to upgrade one step at a time? or the latest version already includes all the previous versions?

Thanks in advance

It's a one shot process. V1.13 contains all the previous updates.

Downloads & Literature - PENTAX Imaging USA

if you use the .exe file in windows you can ignore the error message it generates.
just be sure you get the .bin and readme file from it. be sure to fully read the readme file
before you do anything or you may brick your camera.

The main thing is to be sure that you have a FULLY charged battery....if the battery dies while the firmware is being rewritten then
you gotta send your new shiny brick back to the shop for repairs.

No it's not dangerous. Using your camera is dangerous though, you might drop it.

Nope, SuperK5 is right, really really make sure your battery is fully charged. There are many examples of people bricking their cameras on this forum alone. Seemed to mostly happen with cameras like the k100d which use lower capacity AA batteries, but be AWARE of the risk all the same.
