Thats brilliant, You could maybe make a pan/tilt head and controller in the future and it would be just like a bought one.

Great job on it, well done

Thanks.

I *was* going to make a mechanical pan/tilt, but what I found was that any additional weight, at the end of the jib arm, requires even more weight to offset it.

The more complex it was to become, the more I lost track of what I was trying to do, so I kept it simple.

Looks great. I took machine shop once, actually, I'm a qualified instructor (up to grade 10) , how ever, I hate working with metal. Good to see someone likes it.

I did an engineering apprenticeship in England that covered turning and milling.
I can definitely appreciate the hours you've put in and I'm glad it worked out nicely for you.
Does it come in black?

Thanks for the cool comments. 6061 aluminum is a fun/easy material to work with, and as for color, any color as long as its silver. I thought about anodizing, but the finish is not fine enough.
