Spot metering with aftermarket screens??

I have the KatzEye for my K10d. Naturally Pentax changed the screens enough so it won't fit in my K5. Ratz!

The Eye works wonderfully in the K10, but as others have noted elsewhere it makes the spot metering function pretty near useless. Do the screens mentioned above for the K5 have the same problem? While I'm comfortable with center-weighted metering from the film days spot metering is really handy on occasion.
