Pentax K-5 hard switch?

Hi

Just got a second hand K-5 and found out the on/off switch and the focus point switch is much harder to turn than other Pentax cameras Ive own. Is it normal?

Thanks

It is basically the same as the K10, K20, and K7 as far as I can tell. Not hard to move at all.

I agree with Rondec.

You would not want those switches to move too easily and thus be accidentally moved.

The on/off is not much but the af- points selector is really hard to turn.

hard switch

My k5 on/off switch suddently became hard this winter. Don't know if was due to cold or dirt under it.
I passed waxed dental floss in the interspace under that switch (I'm not kidding).
Problem solved.

My rear Focus Mode Selector switch was became almost impossible to turn and I got it 'fixed' under warranty. I don't know if they really used dental floss at all (they claim to have replaced the switch module) but it's better now, but not by much. Before it was replaced it required that much force to turn I feared the switch would snap off if I tried to turn it many more times.
