Besides all the rumors of a K-5 replacement coming this year, wasn't there an announcement of a bunch of new lenses a while back? They're probably trying to dump stock before the new stuff comes out.

I'd take a D7000 over a K-5. That's not unfair when it comes to price (Strictly for AF performance).
Yes, but you'd reallllly be hating the ergonomics coming from a K-5. Trust me on this :-) I've had a K-7, D7000 and now a K-5. Love the ergonomics of the K-7/K-5, but hated the D7000, not to mention its crappy performance in high contrast situations.

A lot of Pentax users (myself included) believe 16 or 24 Mpx is enough. The fact is a lot of photographers love to have a higher megapixel FF.
I have just sold my FF Nikon D700 and FX lenses to return to Pentax and the K-5. I think it was the introduction of the D800/800E that finally pushed me over the edge. I kept seeing ads on Craig's List and Nikonians for D700 with descriptions like "Low shutter count. Used mostly at home taking pics of the kids. Selling to upgrade to the D800". I just thought, where does it end? For most amature photographers, FF makes no sense when there are cameras with the resolution and performance of a K-5 or even a D7000 for that matter. I missed the Pentax primes and Pentax colors. I am able to have much faster glass in exchange for an expensive body that will all to soon be selling for the price of a used D300s.

Sorry...I'm just now seeing this. It's a big place here at PF and sometimes hard to keep up!

Yes, the Fuji x10...or as Otis calls it, the "Toy Camera". I won't bore everyone here, but this thread sums up my feeling for the X10...and I mean it as much today as the day I wrote it! What a fun little well made camera!

Oh, no doubt. That's the reason I shoot with a K-7 / K-5: It's the best digital camera, I feel, when it comes to ergonomics and shooting feel.
