Killer DR experienced for the first time

This one shot last week in Dubrovnik Croatia. Hand-held, ISO 6400, 1/20 @ f5.6. PP in Lightroom. It took a fair bit of noise reduction, but I love this shot. I hope it doesn't lose too much in the JPG conversion. The low-light DR performance of this camera is amazing.

Edit: The JPG conversion did artifact the sky quite a bit compared to the original DNG as shown in LR.

The photo looks great, but my question is this: how much of a DR advantage does the K-5 have compared to other cameras at ISO6400? Doesn't the DR suffer significantly at those higher ISOs?

Yes - but it's relatively linear for the k-5, and still a step above all other current APS-C cameras.

I'm not trying to knock on Cbope, but at ISO 6400 we can hardly speak about killer DR. I believe K-5's dynamic range is excellent at ISO 80 AND ISO 100, but then decreases significantly.
If OP had a tripod and took a photograph at base ISO I'm pretty sure there would be much more information in the photo visible.

I'd say for ISO 6400 that's very impressive. Obviously it's not as all encompassing as ISO 80, but having reasonably wide DR at ISO 6400 is way more useful.
