What is your K5 shutter count ?

I already have way over 40,000 "clicks" on my K5 and I would like to know how K5 owners are doing with theirs.

Given that this camera is supposedly good to at least 100,000 clicks .... what do you think: will it last beyond the 100,000 mark ?
I like this camera so much that I am thinking of getting another one, even before the "new flagship" comes along.

Any thoughts?

JP

I've had my K-5 since March 2011 and its shutter count is at about 26,000. I've heard the K-5 is designed to last about 200K shutter count. My K2000 is at 144,000 and still going strong.

Great news then !

This K5 is some piece of equipment ... maybe the best after my K20D.
I am hoping it will last forever!

I am amazed about the lifetime of your K2000!

So you have a fairly "new" K5 !

You should be good for another couple of years ... at least.

Cheers.

Only 20,455 but its my third k-5 body and I still use my k20d for all macro and wide shots (carry both). Received my k-5 on the very first day you possibly could so long ago but had to swap the body twice in the first year before settling with this one. Probably another 12,000 shots on the two that were sent back.

Just used PhotoME for the first time and discovered that I'm at a little over 15,000 actuations after one year. I should be able to get at least six years use out of my K-5 at this rate. Pretty good if you ask me. I hope to have a second body before then anyway and will likely just get my current K-5 serviced rather than replace it when the time comes.

If I were in serious need of a backup/second body right now, I would get another K-5 for sure! It is an excellent camera! I will never willingly part with mine; I don't even want to think about that.

I'm going slow Roughly 3000 after 14 months (plus an additional 700 in 4 months on the original K5 that was swapped).

Well I'm using K-5 #3 and #5 (#1 was stained and #2 and #4 I sold). So with these 5 K-5's I made well over 200k pictures at the time. Only my K-5 Silver is rushing towards 100k at the moment and is at 88.000. My K-5 Regular is fairly new with less then 15.000.

Hi from Austria,

Exactly to this day I celebrate one year of my 3978 K-5 and the shutter count indicates 12548
No stains or any other problems, cam shell still in excellent condition.

Greetings,
Sascha

So, you still have a fairly "young" K5 ... sorry to see that you have been having that much trouble getting a perfect copy.

I hope you will be able to enjoy the good K5 for at least 100,000 clicks!

That isn't much at all!
As you say, you should be able to get another 5 to 6 years out of this K5.
I will definitely keep mine as well, no matter what I get later as an "upgrade".

You are approaching the "rated" lifetime of your silver K5 then.
Not saying that it will suddenly stop at 100,000 clicks, and it shouldn't, but I read that this K5 should last way beyond that.

Let us know when you hit the "magic" number!

Cheers.
