What are your most used lens and what do you use them for? What lens do you have that

I will start. Lens I use
Pentax da 300 f4 and 60-250 f4 for sports and nature shots
Pentax 100 macro f 2.8 for macro, sports and outdoor people
Pentax f 50 f1.7 for indoor shots of people
Sigma 50-500 f4.5-6.7 for nature , sports, outdoors
Sigma 70-200 f2.8 for nature , sports, outdoors

Lens I thought I would use more
Pentax 15 f4 for landscape
Pentax 200 f4 bought for sports but the other lens I have seem to cover this range

My most used lens:
Tamron 70-200 F2.8.

Used for:
Practically everything - even landscape sometimes.

My most used : DA 18-55
("despite all lenses you've got ?")

I shoot sports like climbing, and i rather use the kit lens in this unfriendly environment ... height !

Next : DA 40

Walkaround lens

Up until 2 months ago -
Tamron 28-105 f4-5.6 -trains
DA 16-45 F4 - landscape, general
Sigma 50-150 trains, portraits
Samsung Xenon 100mm F2.8 Macro- flowers

Now- 18-135mm weatherproof, trains,general
DA70 f2.4 - Portrait, trains
plus the Sigma and the 16-45, although the latter the less as I really really enjoy the 18-135, except for the distortion at 18mm

Lens I hardly ever use - thw 18-55 WR, might just sell it, but it is there for my K20D,

The DA 18-135. It's long enough for telephoto work. I often try and use primes when I'm out, and resist using the 18-135, but once it gets on the camera it's real hard to get it off. The only way I know of not using it, is to leave it home. If I take it, sooner or later it's going to be one the camera.

Once in a while, this same question comes back and each time it makes me feel that I have way too many lenses for my "needs" !

DA*300/4, used 80% of all of my photos ... mostly wildlife.
DA*16-50, used about 10% of the time for landscape and indoor stuff.

The remainder 10% includes lenses that would normally make people cringe ... with envy? (This has to do with a former LBA habit).

They are: Zeiss T*Planar ZK; 85/1.4; DA 15 Ltd; FA 43 Ltd; DA 31 Ltd; Tamron 70-200/2.8;

I could always sell the ones I hardly use but my hoarding habits make that impossible for the moment!

DA*16-50 hands down for the great bulk of my shots. After that, the DA 17-70, DA*50-135, and Tamron 70-200 come in second.

I'm on a K-r rather than a K-5, so don't shoot me...
Most used: 18-55 kit.
I carry the DA L 55-300 or DA L 50-200 in my bag for more reach.
BUT the lenses with which I have the most fun when I treat photography as an art instead of just capturing memories?
my KA 28 / 2.8 and my KA 50 / 1.7

It changes depending on my mood but
DA14 - I've probably used this lens more than most since Digital
Sigma 24-70 2.8 ex dg - this is a close second, and would be my most used but i haven't owned it as long as the DA

but that being said when i don't need the 24-70 for something specific i'm far more likely to shoot old primes
lately that has meant m42 and the most used are super tak 50 1.4 and 35 3.5 and then a lentar 21 3.8 (this has been my walk about kit for a month or 2 right now)

I love being the weirdo who always answers these with:

DA 10-17mm fisheye!
For 360 HDR panos, mainly. I shoot 50+ frames for each pano (gotta love those brackets), and average 40 panos a week.

After that (long after that by shutter count), I've been favoring the FA 43mm Ltd. for portraits and landscapes.

Very much depends on situations. By order of usage:

* minimal zoom kit: DA18-250; Tamron 10-24; DA10-17
* minimal prime kit : FA50/1.4; Vivitar-Komine 28/2 CFWA

Those really are the basic five. Sometimes I 'replace' the DA18-250 with:

* Vivitar Series 1 19-35/3.5-4.5 and 70-210/2.8-4; and F35-70/3.5-4.5

And for faster-darker-thinner shooting, I'll supplement the primes with:

* Zenitar 16/2.8; Vivitar-Kiron 24/2; Nikkor 35/2 and 85/2; Tak Bayonet 135/2.5

And I have another couple dozen that I consider my "regular rotation". But I try not to neglect the other couple hundred lenses either. Hence, my LOTD (lens of the day) strategy: Pick one almost a random and shoot with only it for a day or ten. Some LOTD glass makes it into regular rotation; some get sold down the river. It's almost Darwinian, eh?

FA 35: most versatile lens in my bag, for low light, indoor, walk around, fast AF needs, light weight, full length portraits

DA 18-135: nice zoom range, silent AF, for travel and everyday outdoor use

Sigma 18-50 f/2.8: indoor snapshots of family gatherings and taking pics of my kids (human and canine)
