Debug Mode to adjust for Back Focus

I just used PK-Tether App. Debug Mode to adjust AF because all lenses were back focusing a lot. I had to add 200 UM in order to use the AF Fine Adjustment for each of my 6 FA/DA lenses. This seems like a large adjustment to me so I’m curious if anyone else has had to do something similar.

I had a similar problem a couple months ago - ended up sending it in to CRIS for warranty repair. It came back with the AF dead on for all my lenses. The camera was fine when I first bought it new, but sometime in the first 5 months of ownership the AF went weird on me. As you say, I had a few lenses that with even a -10 AF adjustment would not be enough to focus properly when they were all fine when the camera was new.

Just out of curiosity, what model was your camera, Stan? I'm guessing it's the K-5 you have listed in your signature tag. I'm trying to figure out something similar on my K-5.

I had to re-read this a couple times; my first run through my brain immediately went to "it came back with my autofocus dead." Like, non-functioning.

That is an awful lot of AF adjustment, especially uniformly across all those lenses.
Maybe you actually need to adjust your dioptre instead of your AF

Sorry for the confusion!

Yes, it was my K-5. And when I got the camera back from repair, the AF was perfect on all my lenses without touching the AF adjustment.

Just wondering how difficult it is to do this adjustment. Are there any instructions for doing this, or is is something that the average intelligence user should not attempt?

thanks,
Steve.

It is not difficult to do. Instructions are in various threads about Debug Mode in the PK-Tether application.

Does entering debug mode void your warranty?
