SMC Pentax-M 135mm F3.5 that works on K10D....

Hello all, I wonder if someone out there has and answer to this.
My SMC Pentax-M 135mm F3.5 that works fine as a manual lens on my K10D will not meter on my K5. Firmware on K5 is 1.13

M lens should work fine on k-5 I have several.
Assume you understand the need for stop down metering?
Also you have "use aperture ring" set to yes in menu?

Many thanks - it was the aperture setting that had tripped me up!
