Third Party Battery

Hi guys,

i bought a 15$ third party battery at amazon (see attachment), the original one is about 60$ in Germany, so it is really cheap.
Has somebody of you any experience with third party batteries in general or especially with this one, because I don't want to risk the health of my K-5.

Thanks

jkloster

I've been using a third party battery in rotation with three original Pentax ones.

The 3rd party one does not seem to last as long as the Pentax ones, but the camera functions fine otherwise.

It is not so important that the performance is at the same level, it is more for the case that I run out of battery.

So thank you for your answer

I have a mix of OEM, Third-party and Sanyo Eneloops(AA) for my power needs. I have added weight to the bag, but I'm good to go.

I have 2 OEM Pentax and 2 third party batteries for my K-5 and have seen no real difference in their performance. I got mine as a set with a quick charger that has folding prongs which makes it much easier to pack when traveling, all for around $25 as I recall.

I run three sets of batteries, 2 orginials and 2 pairs of third party in rotation and no trouble yet, even in a third party grip.
