Metering on K5 + M42 lens

Hi all .
I just bought a K5 and have only 2 lens M42: Super Takumar 50 f1.4, SMC Takumar 135 f2.5. When i use the M42 lens and push Green button, i don't see metering bar??? I wonder if it is normal
Anyone used K5 with M42 lens please tell me. Did you see metering bar when use K5 with a M42 lens?
Sorry for my bad English

First decide on your aperture. Then push the green button, and you will see the speed in the lower left corner of the view finder. You may have to manually close the aperture to get the reading on an older lens. If you don't like the speed, change the aperture and repeat

Another way is to set the camera in av mode. It will then automaticly set the shutterspeed when you set the aperture.
Anyway, I will recommend focusing wide open and then stop down.
