Still not working. Strange because I clicked the other day (on my phone) and it did work then.

Hi friend, I am the one who do modificaiton on my K-5 by use my kid's Lego.

Start from draft DWG by measuring the hole size and dept, the dimension might not accurate enough because I use ruler not caliper.

See my material for this modification.
1. Lego part, it is the small plastic rod diameter 1.5mm., I am lucky that I can get the right diameter.
2. The orange color plastic tip, this one also my kid's.
3. Instant glue.

Then I assembly the cup and rod to form the puncher, then cut to be size as DWG. Finally, decorate with the orange plastic tip.

The last step, assembly the lens puncher into my K-5 body, because of the end of the puncher is ~0.2mm bigger than the rod (to lock the puncher with the hole) then I need high force to push the puncher into the hole.

Are you ready to see my new K-5 with orange lens puncher ?? This could be the only one K-5 in the world

And the "lost" button was found!

My son found the button. But its too late now, since the camera is already mailed.

Appearance wise it looks very similar to the fabricated lego button. It has a groove on the shaft - probably for a circlip. And it has a funnel shaped thin rubber hood on the shaft, which I believe is for weather sealing.

In any case, if a circlip needs to be affixed then the camera needs to be taken apart since the circlip will need to be put on after the shaft is inserted in the orifice - I wouldn't care to do it on an in warranty equipment. Not to mention that I don't have the circlip.

circlip can be put on and then push the button back into the camera, it "clicks" in place and works just like the original, i got pentax canada to send me the parts (button, gasket, circular retainer washer) fixed in 3 min after i got the parts, just attach them together, and then push it into the camera... voila! your camera is fixed... my k5 is out of warranty and they wanted to charge me 100$ for the repairs... 3 min of labour? sounds like robbery to me
