10 things to know about the K5II/K5IIs

This was posted a couple of hours ago:

Pentax K-5 II and Pentax K-5 IIs: 10 things you need to know | News | TechRadar

pretty much all that has already been duscussed here but there sems to be more "recent" emphasis on the "new" AF module.

Mods: If this is too redundant, please dispose of this new thread at will.

I don't think it's redundant - it's cool that techradar puts this up.

I will be following any news/reviews/comparisons of the "new" AF module of those cameras.

That is disappointing for me - I adored the focus peaking on the k-01 and the k-30

Not really impressed to speak, but thanks for the find ... I was overjoyed to read that the K-5 II/s have 100% OFV ... wow, gonna trade in my K-5 for that new upgrade, really 100%! WOW! Just being sarcastic for the heck of it ... and yes, it's ten things one needed to know, not the ten newest upgrades.

So just how do you slightly rotate the image.

I'm at the clinic but this is what I found in the K-30 materials (and this goes for the K-5 as well as I recall) I had on this computer:
PENTAX Shake Reduction (SR) mechanism for sharp, blur free images
The PENTAX K-30 incorporates the PENTAX-developed SR mechanism, which effectively reduces blur due to camera shake by approximately four shutter steps. Usable with all PENTAX compatible lenses*, including those produced for film format SLR cameras, this mechanism produces sharp, blur free images even under demanding conditions that are prone to camera shake, such as when using a telephoto lens, shooting in the dark without flash illumination, or capturing landscapes in twilight. The K-30's SR system also offers several other useful features to assist the photographer during shooting, including an Automatic Horizon Correction function to assure high precision image framing and effortless adjustment of horizontal alignment, a Composition Adjustment function to allow minute adjustments of image alignment horizontally/vertically/axially, and an ASTROTRACER mode to eliminate light trails during astronomical photography in combination with the optional O-GPS1 GPS Unit (available separately).

Wow, just tried it and shot into my living room with the camera at an angle and the image was perfectly level. Not cropped level either!!! What a neat trick.

Actually that info is not true. It says that they use same sensor. I just read from web that it is not 16.3 mb, but developed 16.2 MB cmos, and it has better high ISO performance...

Well it say at here(from online camera shop at Finland, reliable one.)

  • 16,2 megapikselin CMOS-kenno
  • Sääsuojattu magnesiumrunko
  • Yhdysrakenteinen kuvanvakaaja
  • Pölynpoisto
  • ISO-herkkyys 80-51.200
  • SAFOX X+ AF-tarkennus, 11 valinnaista tarkennuspistettä
  • 3” kestävä LCD-näyttö, 921.000 pikseliä
  • Live View -suorakatselu
  • 100% etsinkuva
  • 7 kuvaa/s
  • Full HD-tasoinen videokuvaus
  • Mikrofoniliitäntä
  • HDMI-ulostulo
  • Rungon mitat (KxLxS) n. 97×131×73 mm
  • Rungon paino n. 740 g käyttövalmiina
Uudessa CMOS-kennossa on 16,2 megapikseliä aikaisemman 16,3 megapikselin sijasta, mutta mikä tärkeintä, niin kohinataso on saatu uuden kennon myötä aikaisempaa alhaisemmaksi. Alhainen kohinataso onkin usein kuvanlaadun kannalta tärkeämpää kuin mahdollisimman suuri pikselimäärä.

it says tha with new sensor, which is smaller that previous, that noice level have been reduced from one that was before this...can't find translation in english.
