loving my K5

Took it to the balloon rally in Prosser, WA this morning (a two hour drive from my home in Oregon) and had alot of fun.

Here is one example:

Lens was 24mm f2 internal focus Pentax.

Thank you. I figured I would do something a little different as most of the time for the last many years you only see hot air balloons processed in color. I figured I would do a B/W.

Great shot, the tonal difference from upper left to lower right is fantastic, as is the way you've shown the balloons.

we have a print shop a few miles from me called "The Big Print Shop" in West Richland, WA they produce a lot of the Hewlett Packard promotional material for printers and have printers that can print incredible sizes in single runs (they print banners as a staple to their incomes). I have used them to print a photo three feet by five feet wide that I shot with a Pentax K7 and my Sigma 50-500mm lens (the photo is a flock fo Snow Geese in flight).

Mickey, I really am enjoying the lower ISO settings of this camera.

DAMN! Had we known about that event, we'd have been there! Took a ballon ride this Spring and it was an amazing experience. Photo is awesome - love the lighting and choice to go B&W. Smart thinking.
