K5 IIs and astrophotography

Using the very limited knowledge I have of the subject, and even more limited deductive ability, it would seem to me that the K5 IIs, without the AA filter, should be even better than the K5 at astrophotography. Does this make sense, or is there something I am not aware that would give the opposite result, or would it not make a difference?

Yes, the IIs should be better for astrophotography, In most cases the difference will be difficult to see though. The K5 is already high enough resolution that atmospheric conditions, optical aberrations in many lenses and telescopes, stability of the astrotracer/tripod/mount, and accuracy of manual focusing are larger limiting factors that probably cause more blur than the AA filter. Nothing about the IIs will make it *worse*; there's no risk of moire patterns in the night sky.
