The K-5's max framerate is 7FPS, which you can achieve in the continuous drive mode with AF set to release priority or disabled.

Do all of that, plus shoot JPG only, and limit your ISO maximum to something reasonable like 1600 ISO (high ISO = bigger files = fill the buffer up quicker and slower to process and write to SD card). And to get the maximum speed, use a fast Class 6 or better SD card from a quality brand too.

Overcharge your battery and you can even get 9 fps (don't know if that is good foor your camera).

Don't shoot at:ISO 80, don't use max quality,...correct?

I can't find the "Continuous Hi" in drive mode(I also can't find "Drive" mode).

If you can get 1/125s or faster at ISO 80, you can use ISO 80.

On the 4-way controller, the top one (looks like a clock) is the drive mode. Normal drive is a single green frame. Continuous drive is 3 white frames in a row, and once selected will give you an option of Hi or Lo (Hi: 7FPS, Lo: 3FPS I think)

I took the tip from someone here and set up a User Mode for fast shooting - with pretty much all processing turned off, set to TAv for a general daylight setting and the continuous high. I use it really just for burst shooting, not a very long sequence. It's very convenient.

lol seriously? By how much does the battery need to be "overcharged"? Does this work on K-5s that were repaired for "mirror slap"?

Didn't do any measurement, but I did time my framerate and that was little over 9fps.

Or is this like telling someone to make sure the shutter fluid is topped up?
