I just pulled the trigger on a 18-135mm k5II kit. Now the waiting game begins. I was also able to get the 2yr extended warranty from Adorama, even though I live in Virginia(it isn't sold in Virginia and Florida usually). I am upgrading from a K10D so I am looking forward to shooting at iso above 800, live view, movie mode, time-lapse mode, 7fps, 921k lcd, magnesium body, increased dynamic range, faster/lower light focus(I have a few f2.8 lenses), etc. I know a lot of people are leaning towards the K-5IIs, but I wanted the 18-135 kit lens and felt that the image quality improvement from my k10d would be enough.

you can safely shoot at iso 1600, even iso 3200, with clean images. =)

I can only imagine what I can do with my tamron 70-200 f2.8 at iso 3200, 6400, 12800....

Wonderful. Looking forward to seeing photos come in from the K5 II. It should be a big jump in quality and usability from the K10.

Yea, order the D-BG4 and an extra battery while you are at it. Makes a big difference in handling IMO.

That is one my fave lenses on the K5. I use it mostly for landscape but also for shooting my dog running about which works quite well on the K5. Happy shooting!

Congrats! I just got my K5 on Monday and I'm loving it. upgraded from the K10d as well.

Handles very nicely, though the quiet shutter seemed a tad weird to me for the first 40 shots or so, then I began to wonder why other shutters were so loud...LOL

You're gonna love the new body.

Heh Heh, I too was in the exact same boat as you are in, I had to wait for the grip, but let me tell you it was worth the wait, the grip really balances this combo out very well. I took the set up on my Florida trip a few months ago and it was all I had on me, everything worked flawlessly and I really had a blast using it. I took more than 2000 shots and most of them are keepers, I am still PPing them and will post some of them along with a K-5/18-135/grip review.
The only draw back I am noticing so far is my focus may be a little off, and I need to figure out how to adjust that issue.
I upgraded from a K-x, but due to the fact that that little camera is an awesome camera, we use the heck out of it still, it is still a big part of our Camera gear, and like the K-5, it goes with us everywhere as well.

That is one feature I forgot to mention in my original post, micro focus adjustment!. I really wish I had this feature on my K10D. I will probably have to spend an afternoon adjusting all my lenses once I get my K5II. My FA 50mm f/1.4 has been collecting dust over the years because I can never trust its focus on my K10d. I have also noticed my new 35mm plastic fantastic has a slight front focus. My two f/2.8 tamrons seem okay, but I will probably adjust them as needed.

I saw some tests for low light shooting, though I haven't heard anything about the new AF with regards to faster lenses.
Any idea if that's been covered yet?
