No time or sense enough to read a few lines but smart enough to judge a whole company and waste your time posting crap on a forum, right?
Being smart means to know what to read and what is a waste of time.

Oh, I get it now: you're one of those "very smart" people, are you? I'll take back everything I've said until now. You are quite correct, oh smart Nikon D40 shooter who contemplated a K20D this time last year but stopped reading thàt thread as well. You really crack me up, you know that?

You Sir, are merely a troll nothing else. You wouldn't recognize a sensor stain if it jumped out of the lens mount and bit you in the nose.

, so true. I know I have not been accused of being smart so I keep coming back here to read the drama.
Wonder if this will go on like the FF threads have.

Do you think that a company that cannot solve a known problem for nearly two years can prosper in the long run?
I notice that you never posted an image to actually show your problem, so I have some doubts about your problem report.

People in the past have confused dust and dirt for stains, and when they posted an image here it was pretty easy to see what the real problem was - stains or not. If it was indeed stains, people here would help you confirm that. Folks want to help, not score points.

In the absence of evidence of a real problem, your original post and all your other conclusions about Pentax are suspect.

And who are you to judge me...
He's just a person with more experience dealing with you, than you have with your K5. Are you saying he could be wrong about you, given his one-day experience?

For the last time I tell you.
The camera is new, produced in June 2012.
I checked a lot of the things you suggest.
I am not gonna be Quality Control for Pentax, thank you.
I just don't think this camera is worth it, after all. For me personally.
I'll wait for a better one.
In the mean time I'll keep shooting my Nikon.
Cheers
There's a reason why cameras are sold with warranties -- not every single one is perfect. As soon as a model is known to be perfect, people will buy it without a warranty and think nothing of it. I wish you all the luck in the world trying to find that camera.

Poor Nikon users.

Oil and dust everywhere on the D600, the D800 too. People buying and trying 3 bodies only to find the same problem in each, 100+ dots showing up after 500 shots, Nikon customer service horror stories, oil dots sprayed all over the left side of the sensor, 'It is a disgrace that Nikon won't officially acknowledge this problem', 'What ever happened to quality products and quality control?'. It just goes on and on.

It's a tough business making cameras nowadays.

Hi Eagle - sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Pentax camera you bought. I, like lots of other people, really enjoy mine. I've tried other brands and not found them as reliable - your mileage may differ, and that is ok. So - go ahead and get one of those Nikons if you think they are better - dust and oil included.

a.) I don't believe it was an actual sensor stain. Those are very rare now and very hard to identify.

b.) You will probably be happier with a new Nikon.

Best of luck.
