What's the point of that Youtube link you posted? -
(a) it features a K-7, not a K-5, which is what this thread is about;
(b) it shows that focus is successfully achieved with the K-7, so NO AF failure;
(c) it only shows that the K-7 is a bit slower than the Canon, but no surprises there as the Pentax lens is screw-drive and the Canon lens is USM, and the Canon lens has a shorter focus throw as well by the look of things.
(d) it's a two year old video from a guy with a history of bitchy ill-informed comments about Pentax.
Seriously. Given the right settings someone could probably set up a test showing an old Pentax ME-F beating a Canon 5D3's AF if they wanted to, and post a Youtube video about it. But would it really prove anything at all?
