Would love to see a video review
Any chance you're going to add those to the sits repertoire?

We do them when they're worthwhile, in this case, there's not much to say in a video

They're straight out of camera. The K-5 isn't a D800 or a 645D...

I'd say the difference here is greater than what we're seeing with the D800/E and so in this way, I lead to say the K-5 IIs is a better value.

I am disappointed that the focus precision remained the same as the original K-5. I figured that would be the case but this confirms it.

As always, a very nicely written review - to the point and easy to understand without going too deep into unneeded details.

The only question is.....why you use a lens that has been discontinued for years for the image samples. Wouldn't a better comparison be with a lens that is currently available from Pentax?

The k-5 OOC jpegs have already traditionally been softer and noisier anyways. The RAW files are where the magic's at.

Thanks for the review - I can only hope for focus peaking to someday make it onto the k-5IIs. Otherwise, the k-5IIs is literally the perfect camera for me.

Adam - Could you clarify whether, in the quoted text below, you were recommending the K-5 or K-5II as the upgrade from an older body? This K-r owner is particularly interested.

I don't know if you meant "while" to mean "as long as"" or "although" The text below was not clear to me.

We are very happy that Pentax decided to continue the Pentax K-5 by releasing a successor using the same great camera body. However, the few upgrades (AF, LCD) in the K-5 II hardly justify its higher price at launch, as most users would not even notice their existence in practice. Thus, while the original K-5 is still available in stores, it's the camera that we recommend for those of you who are still shooting with an older Pentax body, as well as for users of intro-level DSLRs from other brands that perhaps don't have the same great image quality

Adam, thanks for your informative review.
One thing I'm missing badly is the SFOX X usability for apertures above f4 (f.ex. F2). You didn't mention this at all. Do you have any knowledge about it?
Thanks

FF for real?

I like how they subtly say that Pentax told them that FF is definitely coming in the next year or so. Ummmm, announcement please... When did they tell you this? And what else did they say? Be specific! Thats HUGE news. Don't be so subtle please haha!
