Sports with the K-5 II or IIs

Just thought I'd start up a thread showing the K-5 II s used for sports... If' you have a II or a IIs, please feel free to show what it can do for sports shooters!

Anyway, here's a little from Pipeline at Ehukai Beach on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Photos taken with a Pentax K-5 IIs and a Sigma 300mm f2.8 paired with either a Tamron 1.4X TC of a Vivitar 2X TC. The usual Hawaiian winter swell conditions of some slight overcast at time and very direct sunlight at others. Some of these were taken with AF.S, while others were taken in AF.C with the expanded mode turned on. I have noticed that the tracking "seems" more consistent and the frame rate is also more consistent than my K-5. I'm waiting for a more overcast day where I can field test AF.C and the expanded mode in a more demanding conditions.

Is the Sigma 300 a HSM or traditional focusing system paired with the TC

The reason I ask is at the moment my K7 can't find focus with my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM paired with the Kenko Pz-AF 2X MC7 in perfect conditions. This may give me more of a reason to upgrade.

I really wonder about the K-5 IIs for thing like hockey, floorball and soccer due to the textile and other fine patterns. I don't want extra work on the moiré.

The Sigma I have is not HSM. It's screwdrive, but it is pretty fast.

I really wonder about the K-5 IIs for thing like hockey
I've been coveting a K-30 for a while now but lately the amazing clarity of images from the K-5 IIs has really caught my eye. I too am wondering if anyone has been using it for any hockey photography and if so, what are your impressions?

Great shots of the surfers! Nice work with your IIs and 300. I too have a k-5 IIs and Moire is not a factor at all. Moire is very over hiped. It is just a great camera that can do anything. Nice work, really enjoyed the shots!!!
