Well it is the exact same sensor and the K-5 was already good. I wonder if we can see something in the K-5 IIs results that are different.

Makes me wonder ... if Pentax can make the best APS-C sensored camera, and hold onto that title for two years, what would happen if Pentax got their hands on some good 24MP and 36MP FF sensors from Sony sometime.

Very interesting. They say:

Does the ii really have a larger buffer? Hadn't heard that.

Also hadn't heard of an improvement in the "low light stabilization system". Is that a typo and they are talking about the AF system?

Greg
Yeah, "low light stabilization" seems wrong. Stabilization senses movement and isn't actually looking at the image. *If* stabilization is improved, though, maybe the reviewer only noticed it in low light because that's when slower shutter speeds tend to be used.

Very disappointing that they tested the II first instead of the IIs. It's not surprise the II is a K-5 clone.

It took them months and months to test the OM-D5, while people screamed for a review. It may be a while before they get around to the IIs.

For sports shooting it is a joke period. I use and have been thru 3 K-5 bodys now And only one 7D. Sure the sensor is great. The camera however is a joke.

This thread is about the K-5 II. I don't believe you've tried one have you?

That only applies to Pentax lenses. Don't ever go into that section...
I went there once, I'm still wondering if they talk about the same lenses than us here.

Can't see that it has been posted here yet, a nice verdict with some interesting wording =) :

DxOMark - Pentax K5- II: Showing the competition how it?s done
Very strange ISO level of K-5II:

equal ISO200 and 400 with K-5 - 183 and 363

understated ISO100 - ISO85 (K-5 - ISO90), ISO80 - ISO68 (K-5 - ISO70)

ISO3200 - K-5II - 2482, (K-5 - 2864) and all high ISO 6400-51200....

overrated ISO1600 - 1514 (K-5 - 1417) and ISO800 - 744 (K-5 - 717)

ISO800 and 1600 of K-5II are close to real ISO.
ISO80, 100 and ISO3200-51200 of K-5 are close to real
ISO200 and 400 are equal

They'd actually be competitive with the other DSLR manufacturers again.

If we use Nikon 800 vs 800e as a yard stick for K5II vs K5IIs; http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Cameras/Compare-Camera-Sensors/Compare-came...(brand3)/Nikon

Expect marginal improvement without the LPF. Maybe 83 overall score for the K5IIs, which is one point ahead of K5II.
